You won't find a town called Lakeshore on a map, but you'll soon feel the Lakeshore community - and LANCER PRIDE - in your heart. We believe all children deserve an engaging and inspiring education - and the opportunity to discover and pursue their own paths. With Passionate educators, the latest technology and unique opportunities, Lakeshore does more than equip our students to succeed in life - we empower them to lead their lives with character and integrity.
Lakeshore Excellence Foundation
Through the generosity of our donors, the LEF has funded more than 70 academic projects, 40 hardware and software projects, and a wide variety of outreach, cultural and aesthetic programs, many open to the entire community. In 2016, we successfully completed our largest infrastructure project to date by investing $600,000 to transform all of our libraries into 21st Century Learning Centers. We are now poised to again reach higher: we’re reaching out for contributors to help us support the implementation of STEM throughout all grades levels at Lakeshore Public Schools.

Fools is a comic fable by Neil Simon, set in the small village of Kulyenchikov, Ukraine, during the late 19th century. The story follows Leon Steponovich Tolchinsky, a school teacher who takes a new job educating Sophia, the daughter of Dr. Zubritsky and his wife, Lenya. Leon soon learns that there is a curse on the village that makes everyone stupid, but complications ensue when Leon falls in love with his pupil.
Lakeshore Public Schools Board Member, Mike Welch, died September 27 after a long illness. Mike began his service as a Board Member in April of 2005. A 1981 graduate of Lakeshore High School, he was a proud supporter of Lakeshore Public Schools and communities throughout Southwest Michigan. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family (wife, Lisa, and children, Kara and Carter, both Lakeshore graduates).
"The Lakeshore Public Schools Board of Education, administration, staff, and students, along with the Lakeshore Community, will be forever grateful for the leadership, commitment, spirit, and inspiration Mike Welch provided to our schools and our community. As an alumnus, Board Member, parent, and benefactor, Mike exemplified Lancer Pride! He will be greatly missed." – Lakeshore Schools Superintendent, Phil Freeman
“It has been a true honor to serve on the school board with Mike. I always listened with interest to his perspective on various issues and learned a great deal from him. I’ve known Mike since high school and I’ve lost a good friend and so has this board, school district, and community. He will be so dearly missed.” – Fellow School Board Member, Mark Whitwam
“Mike was a wonderful board colleague, student champion and consummate exemplar of servant leadership. We have been blessed at LPS by Mike’s contributions which will serve our district for years to come.” - Lakeshore School Board President, Jason Beckrow
