Standardized Testing Dates 2022-2023
The PSAT is the preliminary SAT test that students in the grade 9 and 10 are required to take by the State of Michigan to assess ELA and Mathematics. The PSAT is a part of the College Boards' Suite of Assessments for assessing College and Career Readiness. The PSAT 8/9 test, given to 9th graders, is designed to provide baseline performance information. The PSAT for 10th graders is called the PSAT 10 test. This assessment will provide a check-in on a student's progress towards their preparedness for the SAT with Essay which is given in the 11th grade as part of the states' Michigan Merit Exam. The PSAT/NMSQT is the same assessment as the PSAT 10, but is given at a specific time in the fall (October) as part of this unique scholarship opportunity.

NWEA Tests
Students in grades 1-7 take the Northwest Evaluation Association's (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP) assessment in fall, winter, and spring. We use these assessments, along with a host of other formative and summative assessments, to determine instructional levels and to measure academic growth in core areas throughout the school year, and from year to year. The MAP tests also serve as one of our district common assessments in math, reading and language usage.
Please review the links below to learn more about interpreting your child's results. The MAP tests are unique in that they are administered online and are computer adaptive, which means they adapt to your child's level of learning. The purpose of this assessment is to provide data on students' growth over time so that teachers can use the data to inform instruction and students can use the information to see their individual progress.
If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or building administrator.
