  • You Are Invited to Summer Fun in the Garden!

    Hello Hollywood Families,

This summer our garden and playground will be open! Yay! We missed seeing everyone last summer. Many things are growing.  Garden Leaders Club and classes have been busy planting, weeding and watering. Your family  is invited to the garden Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 beginning June 16th. Drop in with your family for all or part of the time to water, pull a few weeds and enjoy the summer bounty!

All are welcome anytime, if a different time fits your schedule. The garden is a peaceful place to slow down and enjoy our Michigan summer.  Feel free to bring a picnic dinner for more fun!

Additionally, help is needed to keep the garden thriving during the hot months.

    • Could your family help with watering and weeding?  Perhaps there is a week you will be home and can check the garden 1-2 times per week and water if there hasn’t been rain.  Sign up here. Amy Deloria will contact you with specific information for using the hose.
    • Garden Facilitators are also needed for the Family Garden times, to open up the “Kids’ Shed”, greet visiting families, and close up.  More details and signup here.

We hope to see you soon! If you have any questions, you can contact Mr. Heppler pheppler@lpslancer.net  269-235-4703 or Ms. Deloria adeloria@lpslancer.net 231-330-9482

  • Building strong reading skills provides a great foundation for your student to excel in school and in life.  Reading exercises your brain, improves concentration, improves vocabulary and language skills, develops a child's imagination, while teaching them about different topics. Utilize the reading activities, booklets and toolkit on under our Department of Instruction and Curriculum: Reading by 3rd Grade to strengthen your child's reading skills.

Benefits of Reading 20 Minutes a Day

Start reading 5 minutes a day at home with your Kindergartener and by the end of 6th grade your child will have read 900 minutes every school year = 282,000 words and scores in the 50th percentile on average. You can make a difference in your child's future!
