Bachelor of Art in Education from Central Michigan University
Masters in Teaching of Reading from Western Michigan University
I come from a long history of educators. My father, aunts, brother, sister-in-law, and cousins were/are all educators and coaches. I am also married to an awesome teacher of physics. We have two children who have graduated from Lakeshore Public Schools and went to Roosevelt Elementary themselves! Our son and daughter both graduated from Michigan State University. Our son is a Mechanical Engineer and our daughter is currently in Medical School at Michigan State. My favorite past time is spending time with my family and extended family. I like music, travel, going to the beach and walking to look for stones and beach glass, hiking, and kayaking. I enjoy teaching young children and love the cute, honest things they say as well as seeing the progress they make from the beginning to the end of the year. I love reading my favorite children’s book Little House in the Big Woods to my students. I remember my own 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Clark from Reeths-Puffer Elementary, reading this book to my class. We made butter and brought the story to life with objects of long ago. I do this very thing each year with my class. I feel so grateful to have had a great education in my own life and try my best to do the same for each and every one of my students.
