    Learn the basics of how to operate a computer and navigate the Microsoft Windows interface, as well as the basic parts and terminology related to computers.

    MANAGING FILES & FOLDERS

    This class focuses on the basics of how to manage your computer data (documents, photos). You will learn how to organize your files in folders, move files, copy files and how to find files.

    IPAD BASICS

    Learn the basics of how to use your iPad in this 90- minute workshop. Topics include: basic navigation, using iCloud for backup, installing and managing apps, internet browsing, email and basic trouble-shooting. The material would also be helpful for those using an iPhone. Please bring your own iOS device.

    IMPROVING YOUR PRESENTATION SLIDES

    If you prepare presentations, you know there is a lot to consider in preparing effective slides. In this 90-minute workshop, we will dive deeper into the basic components of a slide, including selecting fonts, colors, backgrounds, transitions, animations, images and using whitespace. The lab computers have Microsoft PowerPoint, but you are welcome to bring your computer with your own presentation software. The principles discussed would apply to PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides

    AVOIDING DEATH BY POWERPOINT

    You probably have been the victim of a boring, ineffective PowerPoint presentation and do not want to repeat those mistakes in your presentations. In this two- hour workshop, we will look at the key components of highly effective slide presentations. There will be time for you to practice applying some of the techniques we discuss on your own presentations. The lab computers have Microsoft PowerPoint, but you are welcome to bring your own computer with your own presentation software.
