• Kindergarten and Young Fives Students

    Young 5's Age Requirements - Children MUST be 5 years old between June 1 and December 1, and an independent bathroom user.  Preference given to those born between September 1 and December 1.

    • Registration for Young 5's is now full, though we are accepting names for a waiting list.  If we receive enough interest, we may open another classroom.
    • You must have ALL of the following documents listed below at time of registration to hold a spot, other than the health info can be turned in this summer.
    • Non-residents may NOT register at this time, but may apply for Schools of Choice in the spring ONLY if space is available.
    • This is a full day, every day, free program to those students who reside within the Lakeshore School District.
    • The calendar follows the district elementary calendar.
    • Transportation is provided.

    Kindergarten Age Requirements - Children must be 5 years of age by September 1.

      Required Registration Documents for Young 5's and Kindergarten:

    1. Provide a birth certificate (must be certified with a raised seal). The State of Michigan requires the School District to inform authorities if an original, certified birth certificate has not been produced within the requested time frame. We will make a copy of it at our office when you bring it.
    2. Provide immunization records
    3. Provide Three Proofs of residence:
      • Homeowners - If you own or are purchasing a home in the district, please provide: 
        • Michigan driver’s license or state ID with current Lakeshore address
        • Current utility bill in the name and address of the person enrolling the student (gas, electric, water, or cable bill only) which matches the service address
        • One of the following: Current Property Tax Bill with name and address; or Purchase Agreement (if closing occurred within the last six months)
      • Tenant – If you are renting a home in the district, please provide:
        • Michigan driver's license or state ID with current Lakeshore address
        • Current utility bill in the name and address of the person enrolling the student (gas, electric, water, or cable bill only) which matches the service address
        • One of the following: Current Property Tax Bill with name and address; or Purchase Agreement (if closing occurred within the last six months)
      • Special Residency –  If the parent/child lives with another family within Lakeshore school district, we require a residency affidavit completed and notarized by our Central Office so both parties need to come in to have their signatures notarized along with the ID of the parent and residency information from the person the family is living with.
