A few extra seconds can make a huge difference in keeping our students safe.
Let’s all do our part to keep our Lancers safe!

Together, 294 band students will perform Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline!" That's a whole lot of Lancer spirit on the field!
Come out and cheer them on!
GO BAND!! GO LANCERS!!
We have four more reasons to celebrate the amazing people who make OUR district so special!
Congratulations to our latest Best of the Best winners:

Last week’s theme was Mind Over Matter, encouraging everyone to take a little time to focus on their mental well-being, practice mindfulness, and make space for themselves in the middle of busy days.
The Fall Wellness Wins Challenge is part of our RAV (Recognize, Appreciate, and Value) Program, sponsored by the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation. We love finding ways to recognize and celebrate the people who make OUR district such a great place to be!

Drivers, please slow down around school buses and be prepared to stop. Students, follow bus safety expectations and listen to your driver. Families, help remind your children about safe choices when waiting for and riding the bus.
Together, we can help make sure every student gets to school and home safely each day.

Exploring Careers. Building Futures!
Lakeshore students joined the county-wide CTE Pathways Event at Lake Michigan College this morning to explore career options, connect with professionals, and discover possibilities for their future!
Our Lakeshore CTE students also took the lead by hosting booths and providing hands-on learning experiences. Way to represent, Lancers!

And with a little fall weather thrown in, it was a pretty great day to take learning outside! The best part? Students will take the information they collected today back to the classroom to create their own Dunes Ecosystem Project.
Real-world learning, fresh air, and a little hands-on science. What a great way to learn!
So, what are some of our students' favorites?
Chicken & waffles
Spaghetti
Orange chicken
Pizza
Our students also enjoy fresh salads, hummus baskets, and fresh fruit every day. And breakfast for lunch? That made a comeback last year and has been a big hit!
A big thank-you to our food service team for all they do to keep our Lancers fed and ready to learn. We appreciate you!

Congratulations to our Week #1 winners!
Ryan Quinn – Dean of Students, LHS
Joy Lennartz – Media Center Paraprofessional, Hollywood
Casey King – Science Teacher, LMS
Nicole Tiefenbach – English Teacher, LMS
Amy Beck – 4th Grade Teacher, Roosevelt
The Fall Wellness Challenge is just one of the ways the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation supports our staff through the Recognize, Appreciate & Value (RAV) Program. Thank You, LEF!

Congratulations to the Lakeshore Lancer Marching Band on an incredible first-place finish at the Michigan Competing Band Association (MCBA) competition at Grandville on October 10!
And they didn’t just take first place in their class — the Lancer Band was named GRAND CHAMPION, earning the highest overall score of the entire competition across all flights!
Their production, “Life of a Leaf,” also earned caption awards for:
Best Percussion
Best Auxiliary (Color Guard)
Best Music
Best Visual
Best General Effect
What an amazing accomplishment for our students, directors, staff, and everyone who supports Lancer Band!
Band fans, you’ll have another chance to see them perform at our next varsity home football game on October 23, when they’ll be joined by the LMS Marching Band!
GO BAND!!

At Lakeshore, our coaches know that sports are about so much more than the final score.
They teach hard work.
They teach resilience.
They teach teamwork, accountability and integrity.
They teach athletes how to handle failure, embrace adversity, keep showing up and believe in themselves.
And maybe most importantly, they teach lessons that will stick long after the final whistle.
We asked our coaches what they hope their athletes take with them beyond the game. Their answers said a lot about what it means to be a Lakeshore coach:
“Attitude comes before effort, effort comes before grit, and grit comes before winning — even in the dictionary.”
“Sports are ultimately a practice run for life.”
“Failure is unavoidable. How you pick yourself up after failure is what builds character.”
“Always do what’s right, especially when no one is looking.”
“Control what you can control: your effort, your attitude, and how you treat others.”
“Only one way to be great… hard work.”
“Work hard, train hard, but never forget to have fun.”
And perhaps one of the most important:
“When you feel like life is too challenging, I am a phone call away.”
To all of our Lakeshore coaches — thank you for showing up, putting in the work, believing in our kids and helping them become not just better athletes, but better people.
Happy National Coaches Day! We appreciate you!

We’re taking a moment to celebrate the incredible principals who lead, support, encourage, and inspire our Lakeshore students and staff every day.
Our principals do so much more than run a school. They are in classrooms, in hallways, at events, solving problems, celebrating successes, supporting staff, connecting with families, and always keeping students at the center of what they do.
We are grateful for the time, energy, heart, and leadership they bring to OUR district every single day.
Help us give a big THANK YOU to our Lakeshore principals for all they do to make our schools great!
Happy National Principals Month!

Happy National School Custodian Day!
Today is a great day to recognize the people who work behind the scenes to keep our schools clean, safe, and ready for our students and staff each day.
Our custodians do so much more than clean classrooms. They fix things, help when something unexpected comes up, keep things moving, and take pride in taking care of our buildings.
We are so thankful for the work they do every day for Lakeshore. Thank you to our amazing custodians for all you do for our schools!
If you would like to join our team, please reach out to Jake Scott (jscott@lpslancer.net) or Ashaloen Morris (amorris@lpslancer.net) for more information.

Congratulations to our first four Best of the Best winners!

Grace Waldecker – Roosevelt Teacher
Amy Hosbein – Payroll/Business Office
Heather Jarvis – Accounts Payable/Business Office
We are so lucky to have each of you on our team! Thank you for the difference you make each and every day. You are more than deserving of this recognition!
Keep an eye out for more Best of the Best winners throughout the year

Ms. McNabnay’s Environmental Science students took their first field trip of the year to Hickory Creek, where they got hands-on experience examining aquatic life, water quality, and stream geology.
Place-based learning, real-world data collection, and a little time outdoors make for a great day of science!

The rain may have been falling outside, but inside our buildings, there was a buzz of excitement as students and staff kicked off a brand-new school year!
At Lakeshore High School, student helpers were stationed throughout the building, ready to greet classmates, answer questions, and help everyone find their way. What a wonderful example of our students looking out for one another!
Some of our elementary students got a lesson in indoor recess routines—because rainy days are part of the school experience, too!
Throughout the district, teachers were excited to welcome back familiar faces, reconnect with former students, and fill our hallways with smiles and energy once again.
There were new beginnings, familiar faces, a few “Where am I supposed to go?” moments, and plenty of excitement for the year ahead.
Day One is in the books, Lancers!

This morning at our official district kickoff, we had the privilege of recognizing our longstanding employees for their years of service to Lakeshore Public Schools!
These dedicated staff members have given so much of their time, talent, and heart to our students and our district. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment and the difference they make every day.
Thanks to the generous support of the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation through the RAV Program, we were able to show our appreciation for these outstanding employees and celebrate their years of service.
Thank you for being part of the Lakeshore family and for all you do!
It was a great opportunity to hear directly from our students and be reminded of the impact we have on them every day. The connections we make, the support we give, and the way we show up for our students truly matter. We’re so glad our students were part of the morning!

We’re excited to welcome these newest members of the Lakeshore Public Schools team! They’re ready to make a difference, build relationships, and help our youngest Lancers have a great year.
Please join us in welcoming:
Natalie Fultz — Stewart Special Education
Lindsey Simmons — Stewart 4th Grade
Carly Vadney — Stewart 1st Grade
Kris Coffin — Hollywood/Stewart Special Education
