Veteran's Day Celebrations
In honor of America Recycles Day (Nov. 15), we’re celebrating a powerful recycled art project called “Oceans Uncovered”, created by our LHS German Sister School Exchange students and Roosevelt Elementary 4th graders!

This collaborative artwork reminds us to keep our waterways “uncovered”—free from single-use plastics that threaten our environment. Every year, more than 22 million pounds of plastic pollution end up in the Great Lakes. Plastic never truly disappears; it just breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces known as microplastics.

Through creativity and teamwork, these students are sending an important message: protect our lakes, oceans, and planet by reducing plastic waste, recycling responsibly, and choosing reusable alternatives.

What an incredible night! The annual Thanksgiving Tote Away (#Caring Cupboard) was a huge success — thanks in part to our amazing Lakeshore Middle School volunteers!

With big hearts and unstoppable energy, our students spent the evening taping boxes, sorting and packing food, bagging apples, and cleaning up — all to help local families enjoy a warm and special holiday meal.

Because of their teamwork and generosity, they assembled complete Thanksgiving meal kits for 78 families — feeding 325 people right here in our community.

We couldn’t be prouder of these students for giving their time, effort, and kindness to make a difference. This is what Lakeshore Pride is all about!

Yesterday, members of our basketball program spent the afternoon giving back to the community by helping distribute food at Caring Cupboard. This marks the third year in a row our team has participated in this outreach event. We’re so proud of our players for their commitment to service both on and off the court!

Celebrating National Career Develoment Month at LPS!

Mrs. Jahnke’s students have been getting hands-on experience exploring different careers! Officer Derek Boone showed off his patrol vehicle and equipment, giving students a peek into law enforcement. Local artist Kelsey Yech inspired creativity through rock art, Dental Hygienist Michelle Sawicki shared tips for healthy smiles, and Chef Sarah Heeter helped the class make delicious gourmet caramel apples.

Our students asked great questions, tried new things, and got a real-world look at careers in their community. A big thank you to all the professionals who made this experience so meaningful

Our chemistry students recently wrapped up a fascinating research project exploring the lives and discoveries of famous scientists who changed the world.

To showcase their hard work, students created a “Scientist Graveyard” display in front of the school. Each headstone highlights the groundbreaking accomplishments of scientific pioneers such as Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, Dmitri Mendeleev, Rosalind Franklin, and many others.

This creative project not only celebrates their achievements but also reminds us that the impact of great scientific minds continues to inspire future generations!

Congratulations to Mrs. Suze Miller — one of this year’s Bold Women of Business!

Lakeshore Public Schools is proud to celebrate Mrs. Suze Miller, a dedicated English Teacher of 22 years and Assistant Varsity Football Coach of 4 years, for being named a Moody on the Market Bold Woman of Business.

Mrs. Miller defines boldness through courage, determination, and heart — never settling, always empowering others, and proving that the word “can’t” doesn’t belong in her vocabulary.

When she joined the Lakeshore Varsity Football program, she made history as the first female coach and ran through the tunnel with the players, fulfilling a dream come true.

Her advice to others: “Do something new, something challenging, and something scary every so often. That’s the secret to staying young at heart.”

We are proud of Mrs. Miller for inspiring students and athletes alike. Check out the whole story here: https://www.moodyonthemarket.com/suze-miller-named-to-the-bold-women-of-business-class-of-2025/

Big congratulations to our amazing Marching Band!

Last Saturday, they marched their way to 1st place in Flight 4 at the Portage Northern MCBA competition!

But that’s not all — they also earned top honors for Outstanding Music, Outstanding Visual, and Outstanding General Effect!

Students are now preparing for Middle School Band Night, and we invite you to celebrate with us during halftime of the varsity football game on October 24th at Al Stockman Stadium. You won’t want to miss it — our 7th and 8th Grade Band students will join the Lakeshore High School Marching Band for an invigorating performance of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.”

Together, 275 band students will take the field — a true showcase of our Band Family spirit!

We’ll also be honoring our dedicated seniors, so come out, cheer loud, and help us celebrate this incredible group of musicians.

Let’s fill the stands with pride and energy — GO BAND!

At Lakeshore High, we’re proud to help our students become confident, responsible digital citizens. Over the past two years, our Seminar lessons have focused on:

  • Building digital readiness

  • Navigating Google tools and AI responsibly

  • Understanding the impact of screen time on health and focus

  • Reflecting on how their digital footprint shapes future opportunities

It’s all part of preparing our Lancers to use technology thoughtfully and with purpose—today and in the future.
