Five Lakeshore alumni earned perfect 4.0 grade point averages and received the prestigious Board of Trustees’ Award for academic excellence — one of the university’s highest honors.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Volunteer Band Nurse Sandy Hayes, who is stepping away after an incredible 38 years with the Lakeshore High School Band program.
Sandy was recognized at last night’s Board of Education meeting, where a huge crowd gathered to show their appreciation for the years of care, dedication, and support she has given to countless students, families, and staff.

Congratulations to the 55 LMS Band students who showcased their talents at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association District 6 Solo & Ensemble Festival on April 24–25!
These students performed in 38 events, taking on the challenge of preparing and performing their own unique parts as soloists, duets, and trios. This festival highlights not only musical skill, but also independence, dedication, and true music literacy.
Their performances were impressive, public demonstrations of hard work—and they represented Lakeshore with outstanding success.

Summer is just around the corner, and that means our annual visit from incoming 5th graders to Lakeshore Middle School!
Students got a chance to tour the building and get a sneak peek at what to expect next year as they transition to middle school. Our 8th grade tour guides did an outstanding job leading groups, sharing their experiences, and answering lots of great questions.
As always, there was plenty of curiosity about lockers and lunch—and so much excitement about becoming middle schoolers!
