Huge congratulations to Phoebe, a talented 8th grader from the Lakeshore Band! Phoebe was selected to perform in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association's All-State Middle School Band on January 25th.
Her dedication paid off as she got to rehearse and perform high-quality band pieces under the direction of Dr. Jamal Duncan, an internationally acclaimed conductor and music professor at Arizona State University. The performance took place at the DeVos Steelcase Ballroom in Grand Rapids during the Michigan Music Conference.
Out of 2,764 students who auditioned statewide, Phoebe was one of only 105 middle schoolers chosen for this prestigious honor. The audition required students to independently prepare challenging etudes and scales, plus sightread a brand-new piece of music with just one minute to study it before performing.
Phoebe, we are incredibly proud of your hard work, discipline, and incredible talent. Keep shining!
