Congratulations to the Lakeshore Lancer Marching Band!
We’re thrilled to announce that they earned 1st Place, along with awards for Best Music, Best Visual, and Best General Effect at the MCBA Marching Band competition on Saturday, September 28th, at Portage Northern High School!
Their incredible show, titled “C O S M O S,” takes the audience on an enchanting journey through space, following the tale of a comet. Don’t miss the climactic final pass-through of our comet near the end of the performance!

Lakeshore Marching Band Invitational
October 12th - Join us as we host 11 other area bands for the Scholastic Marching Band Competition! The event starts at 4:30 PM and wraps up with an award ceremony at 8:00 PM.
Senior Night/Middle School Band Night
October 18th - Come out to the varsity home football game, where a combined band of over 240 students will perform “All Star” during halftime! Kickoff is at 7:00 PM.
We can’t wait to see you there and support our amazing band!

As we continue to celebrate this special month, we honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. This is a time to recognize the significant impact Hispanic Americans have had in shaping our nation, from art and music to science, education, and leadership.

Exciting times! This past week, our 5th grade students were given the opportunity to try all of the beginning instruments offered in Lakeshore's award winning band program.
Mr. Grapis, 5th Grade Band Director, commented, "I love that 100% of students are able to walk away having successfully produced beautiful notes on at least one instrument. They are very approachable and engaged, and I look forward to working with them more!"
Students interested in 5th Grade Band and one adult family member should plan on attending the 5th Grade Band Family Instrument Information Night on October 15th in the High School Cafeteria at 7PM.

Fire Prevention Week is October 6-12, 2024!
This year’s campaign, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™” focuses on the importance of having working smoke alarms in every home. We encourage everyone to test their smoke alarms, change the batteries if needed, and ensure they are placed in key areas like bedrooms and hallways.
Let’s all take steps to stay safe and prepared!

Happy Manufacturing Day 2024!
Today, we celebrate the incredible world of manufacturing and the essential skills it brings to our economy and communities. At Lakeshore Public Schools, we’re proud to offer a range of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs designed to equip our students with the skills they need for the future!
From hands-on experience in machining and welding to innovative coursework in engineering and design, our CTE offerings are tailored to meet the needs of today’s world and tomorrow’s workforce.
A big thank you to our dedicated educators and partners who make these programs possible and prepare our students for successful careers in manufacturing and beyond!
The Math & Science Center freshmen spent the beginning of the week in Northern Michigan. Their experience included hiking in Sleeping Bear Dunes, collecting data on trees for their statistics project, visiting the Platte River State Fishery, and doing scientific research aboard the Inland Seas schooner. Back in the classroom, they are now analyzing their data for their geometry and biology classes.

These amazing staff members have truly gone above and beyond, showing incredible dedication to our students and helping make our district a better place every day.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation and our partnership with Stevensville United Methodist Church, Lancer Lunches has expanded this year!
This program provides free, nutritious weekend meals and snacks to ensure students don't face hunger away from school. It's voluntary, confidential, and designed to support students respectfully.
We're deeply grateful to our community partners for helping make this important resource possible, supporting student well-being and success throughout the year!

Lakeshore Public Schools is happy to provide bus transportation for all eligible students to and from their assigned bus stops!
For the safety of everyone, bus passes to ride a different bus or go to another stop will only be granted in emergency situations or if a student needs transportation to a licensed daycare.
In case of an emergency, please bring a note from a parent to the school office in the morning for approval. Thanks for helping us keep our students safe!
